Time to reflect - 2013

This year has been the best yet, for me. I've felt like (prepare to cringe) I've grown a lot as a person and i know I've certainly learnt a lot about myself, so i thought i would share my 2013 highlights with you all.

I'm going to start off with 'Back To The 80's'. Each year my school puts on two productions, one musical in the summer term and one play in the winter term, not to big the school up but these shows do not follow the paths of a stereotypical school show, they come very close to being a professional standard, with the most recent show attracting multiple agents. So on my 15th birthday i found out that i had landed a main role, playing a school nerd called Laura Wilde. The intense and demanding rehearsals began as soon as the year did and we were thrust into a world full of 80's magic.
"Video Killed The Radio Star"
"Lets Hear It For The Boy"
Next up is 'fourgust' i figured that to kick start the summer holidays i would host a BBQ. I'm lucky enough to have quite a large group of friends whom i love so very much. It was a very successful day, the sun shone and a lot of food was eaten, all in the summer spirit! Next years has already been planned.
The summer holidays are always busy, however this year i managed to squeeze in two festivals! Evo was the first, a smaller festival which lasts two days but always has some big headliners, this year it was The Vaccines. The second one was T in the park, where, some of the many big names performing were, Bastille and Two Door Cinema Club!

My fourth favourite memory is getting to meet the new addition to my family for the first time. Two little sisters now! One is three but is already so incredibly beautiful and now a new baby sister, she was only two weeks old when i met her, so small and peaceful, yet, i felt that an instant bond was still formed.

My two beautiful little girlies
My next memory is my school's second production of the year 'Wuthering Heights'. To be involved in a show with such massive expectations following it around was a huge achievement for me, as is getting into any show really but especially this one. I was given the role of Young Cathy a 16 year old girl with a love of moorland adventures, a real joy to play and a memory that will stay with me forever.
"Have you never loved anybody in your life?"

My last memory is a collection of four things, which are the parties that drew the year to a close. With a lot of my friends turning 16 this year there has been numerous parties two being surprise ones, mine included! A joint 16th party got the Christmas holidays into full flow and then the following day i was attending an 18th. Needless to say i slept well the next day and night.

So they were my 6 favourite memories of 2013. I hope you've all had a fantastic year and that 2014 is even better!

'Tis the season to be jolly

So the festive season is well and truly upon us, which means that all of my favourite things are put together in a parcel waiting to be unwrapped as the month progresses. There's something about the month of December which i love, the Autumn leaves left on the ground and the sharpness of the air contribute but i think the main reason why i get so excited for this time of year is the jolly mood that everyone ends up being in.

My Gran's decorations are pretty cute
Advent calendars make the countdown of the 31 days seem a lot less.. well long. This year i got very excited about opening the first door of mine. I have, quite a large obsession with candles so i found myself with a Yankee Candle advent calendar and each day is a different, christmassy, smelling tea light. Jealous? No? Well you should be.
It's so incredibly festive.

Found this at a Christmas market and instantly fell in love.
Last weekend also added to my excitement as i embarked on a journey to a Christmas market. Surrounded by the delicious smells of roasted chestnuts, mulled wine and hot chocolates, it seemed impossible not to be in the Christmas spirit.

I thought i would share my little run up to Christmas with you in the hope that you are now in the Christmas mood, if you weren't already.

  Enjoy the festivities.

Sweet Sixteen

It's funny, the expectation of birthdays is that you wake up feeling and looking older but you never really do. However i do love birthdays and my 16th was definitely one to love!
Carrot cake for my birthday has turned into a family tradition.

My friends are extremely important to me, that might be an obvious thing to say but they're all so individual and special for their own reasons, making up the most fantastic group of people i could ever ask for! I'm extremely lucky to be able to call them my friends, i know that.

So this year, a surprise, costa party was organised for me, i turned up with two friends expecting to celebrate with a small drink but instead i was met with all the amazing people i have (soppily) talked about above, singing happy birthday to me, and a large gingerbread latté! It was the cutest thing and i am so grateful, laughter was most definitely heard all night!
A day i never, ever want to forget!

              Very soppy post over...

Time to start

I've finally decided that now is the time to catch the blogging bug. I've been meaning to do it for a while but i thought, seeing as today is my 16th, i might as well start now.
So welcome to my space of the world wide web and thank you for spending your time reading what you already have.
On here will be the little bits of life that i love and the things that i feel are worth sharing with you, who read them.
I hope you enjoy this section of my life as much as i hope to.
